ROOT CHAKRA JUICE

INGREDIENTS

1 small beet, scrubbed and peeled
2 red apples
1/2 inch ginger

PROCESS

Scrub and peel your beets to take off all the dirt from the skin before processing through your juicer. Juice the apples and ginger next (omit the ginger root if you are using essential oils instead). Pour into a glass, stir in your oils here if using them.

Note: Can be diluted with 4-6oz water if desired.

How to drink it?  If it’s a nice day, take your shoes off and walk outside.  Find a place you can sit down comfortably.  With your juice in both hands, take your gaze to your glass and observe the deep color red.  Then close your eyes and begin to take a few deep breaths filling your lungs to their fullest capacity, emphasizing long and slow exhales.  With each breath, feel the energy shifting down to the base of your spine – where your tailbone touches the earth – visualizing that deep red color filling up that space.  When you’re ready, open your eyes and take a sip of your juice.  Taste the sweetness of the apple, the spicy warmth of the ginger, the comforting heaviness of the beets.  Feel the juice infusing every cell of your body with trust, security, and groundedness.  Take your time to enjoy your juice, infusing each sip with this intention.

Dosha Qualities Note: All juices by their very nature are cold and wet, increasing vata and kapha. To balance these qualities, add a digestive aid like ginger and be sure to sip your juices closer to room temp to avoid icy cold beverages dousing out your agni.
